Ontario Health Says Healthcare Impacts Less Likely During Current Covid Wave

According to Global News, Ontario intensive care units could be treating around 200 COVID-19 patients by January, but the head of the agency overseeing the health system says a province-wide reduction in services is less likely to happen during this wave of the pandemic.

Dr. Chris Simpson, medical vice-president of Ontario Health, says the trigger point at which hospitals would be ordered to ramp down non-urgent procedures is now closer to 250 or 300 intensive care patients.
