About Us
Street Voices is a Black-led non-profit organization established in 2014 with the mission of empowering street-involved and at-risk Black youth.
Initially launched as a magazine, Street Voices has broadened over the past six years into a comprehensive digital media platform, featuring journalistic articles, podcasts, and visual content.
In November 2021, Street Voices further expanded to include a directory on our website that provides access to a wide variety of free programs and services across the Greater Toronto Area.
Our website also aggregates trending news stories, offering timely and relevant content to its audience. We also regularly offer free media training workshops aimed at educating and upskilling Black youth.
Our ultimate goal is to uplift and empower marginalized voices, irrespective of background. As we continue to grow, we aim to extend our directory's reach Canada-wide while telling stories that reflect the diverse experiences within black communities.
