York Region Food Network Programs Provide Platform For Different Cultures

According to Maxine Knight on York Region, food is the history book to our cultures and identities. York Region Food Network (YRFN) started in 2021 with a curiosity and desire to explore what food and history looks like from the perspective of BIPOC communities.

Guided by cookbooks, group discussions and personal storytelling narratives, community members across York Region virtually travelled to Africa, the Caribbean, the United States and India in our biweekly cook-along sessions, Lunch Table discussions and the bimonthly Food Story Series.
